So many people meet with their accountant once a year and are then stuck course-correcting after realising they've been heading down the wrong path for months. I meet with Dion once a month to ensure we keep my personal finances and Waterpro finances on-track.

People say that to run a business, you need a good lawyer and a good accountant. To be honest though, you only really need a good lawyer if you screw up, but having an accountant that I meet with regularly has been an important part of keeping Waterpro running like a wet dream.

We have 10 staff, and one is a full time software developer. This may seem like an interesting choice considering we are a bricks and mortar irrigation shop in Adelaide but when you understand why, it all makes sense.

Growing a successful business and staying focused is hard work. Especially if you get distracted by shiny objects. I have had to ensure I'm surrounded by great people and useful tools and systems to ensure I maximise each day. We all have the same number of hours in the day. It's how you use them that counts.
